Know where to go for your health care
Research by the Australian Bureau of Statistics found that 44% of adults in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) have low health literacy and are uncertain about where to find and how to use health services outside the hospital.
While services such as Walk-in Centres are generally well‑known and loved, there is often confusion about what these services can and cannot provide.
In collaboration with Canberra Health Services (CHS) and ACT Health, a campaign was delivered to raise awareness of available health services and help the community make informed choices about their health care so they can feel confident in getting the right care at the right place, when they need it. It also encouraged the use of a new online tool developed by CHS.
